Traditional Thai therapy (nuad phaen boran in Thai language) is a unique and powerful healing art that combines physical, energetic, and spiritual healing techniques and concepts. It is the skillful combination of opening and toning the body with yoga-like stretches, applying acupressure, finding and dissolving blockages, stimulating energy lines (sen), working with breath awareness, using medicinal herbs, and allowing and encouraging others to engage in self healing, relaxation, and renewal.
In Thailand, this discipline belongs to one of the branches of traditional Thai medicine, and incorporates Buddhist healing principles. Masterful Thai therapists facilitate and encourage healing in others through their sensitive touch, their application of metta (loving-kindness), and the atmosphere of safety, trust and confidence that they establish and maintain in their practice. At its essence, this is a spiritual healing art, not simply a physical therapy.
This web site is offered as a source of reference for traditional Thai healing arts, and also to provide general information about my work as a therapist, teacher and author.
